I've modified a little the forum, by making it display a message when the user is not logged in and attachments ae available. by default, only on news/blog section the attahcments are viewable by everybody. anywhere else, you need to be logged in in order to see/download attachments. now, there will be a message saying that.

Archived (read-only) / News/Blog / Generali insurance ad

I've been searching for this song for weeks. Others have been for years. During my searches, I've found a croat forum on which there was somebody mentioning this about 2 years ago. So it's an old issue It's the song that goes like this: "He's always there... When I need him Like an angel in the sky It's good to have you with me." So, I've done the obvious and went to the source: the Generali company Sent them an email (to my local office) asking for information about the song. They said the song was made specially for them and they own the rights and all that but they agreed to send me the full song So I am now in possesion of it BUT they didn't agree with me making it public. So, I cannot make it available BUT I can tell you that you can try doing as I did, asking for it from the source and who knows, you might get lucky

Archived (read-only) / News/Blog / Configuring windows XP

I was at somebody, trying to configure their winxp box, which had a tuner that just didn't wanted to "sound" anything. So I tried the obvious, accessing the multimedia configurations when I got this fine error message from the attachment. Can you follow those instructions?...

Archived (read-only) / News/Blog / The power of content spam, or how to foul search engines
|
on: June 12, 2007, 01:51:30 PM

So, as you already know, I am for some time operating a web directory, empty-directory.info . I was given a lot of chanses to see the "ideas" on how to get around search engine filters. one of them is using sites with fake, but apaprently real, content. In order to find such sites, when you are not experienced, you need to click aropund a lot of links that go to apparently relevant content until you stumble across a page like this one:

So, there was at one time this "rule", that you shall not have hidden text in your site, otherwise you might get in trouble. It was a funny thing to find out that google actually has hidden text in their pages

Nobody is perfect and google of course has it's own problems So there I was, reading on a thread about something when I noticed the contextual google adds (for romanian, on a romanian forum) which contained a japaneze site with probably japaneze content

Ever since I started programming in delphi (3, about 6-7 years back) I had this unexplainable skill of generating compiler internal fatal errors I'll poste them here as I find the screenshots.

Archived (read-only) / News/Blog / VMWare error [FUNNY]
|
on: June 12, 2007, 01:32:19 PM
|
Somewhere in February I was working on my final year project, which among other things consisted of a small operating system, written in asm and C. And of course I used VMWare for testing it. At one point I got this: "The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system. You will need to power off or reset the virtual machine at this point". Of course, I haven't done anything like that. I think at that moment I was working on the memory manager (which, btw, generated some other nice messages)

I don't remember what was I doing/working on, but about 2 months ago I got this exception: "Instace of class TEditSource has dangling reference count fo 3". As always, this was a one-time apparence.
